Support for the region
The Josef Mühlbauer Foundation has set itself the goal of helping wherever help is needed. That is why, in addition to international projects, we also support numerous institutions and projects in the East Bavaria region every year.
In 2017, the foundation made donations to the St. Ursula Niederalteich hospice, among others, to support the important work of the institution. The hospice was founded in 2015 so that seriously ill people who can no longer be cared for at home or in a nursing home can spend the last days and weeks of their lives with dignity. It offers comprehensive care and palliative medical treatment as well as extensive social support, allowing families to say goodbye to their loved ones in an appropriate manner.
After Leukämiehilfe Ostbayern e. V. had already received EUR 77,400.00 in 2016 for the construction of a patient house on the grounds of Regensburg Hospital, the Josef Mühlbauer Foundation made another small contribution in 2017 for the construction, furnishing and operation of the house. The patient house is intended to be a place of retreat and comfort where the relatives of leukaemia patients can recharge their batteries. It also aims to offer relatives, especially those from the surrounding area, the opportunity to stay overnight close to the hospital without stress.
In addition, the Schwandorf district association of the Bavarian Red Cross received a donation during the 2017 run for the purchase of a special rescue device, the ‘Combi Carrier II’, for the Bodenwöhr water rescue service.
