Rehabilitation Centre for children and adolescents before and after organ transplants – Rudolf Pichlmayr Foundation

In July 2023, the Josef Mühlbauer Foundation received a request from the Rudolf Pichlmayer Foundation for support in financing a rehabilitation centre for children and young people who, together with their families, require physical and emotional care before and after an organ transplant. These children and young people suffer greatly from the consequences of their often life-threatening illnesses. Organ donation is often the last resort. Before and after the operation, they are accompanied by medically trained specialists and therapists at the rehabilitation centre. Family members are also involved in the treatment. They live in constant worry about the young patients and are very restricted in their everyday lives due to their often lengthy hospital stays. Maintaining such a rehabilitation centre costs enormous sums of money.

That is why the Josef Mühlbauer Foundation decided to help and donated EUR 20,000 to the Rudolf Pichlmayr Foundation.
